banana bread

Disclaimer: This post is part of the SPLENDA® Brand Sweet Life blogger program by McNeil Nutritionals, LLC. and The Motherhood, who sent me products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are my own, and I hope you enjoy them. Every year around this time, I try my best to “Spring Clean”. Of course this always includes my house. I take time to clean out my closets, organize my room, clean out and organize my cabinets. This year, part of my Spring cleaning has included replacing junk foods with less added sugars. I need to work on keeping myself healthier. The older I get, the more I notice my health taking a decline and I am not liking it! I just can not give up my sweets! My family has a horrible history of diabetes so I have decided that my biggest step is to … read more

#spon: I’m required to disclose a relationship between our site and Hillshire. This could include Hillshire providing us w/content, product, access or other forms of payment. Hi, my name is Amber and I am a sandwich addict! I likely consume more sandwiches than I should in a given week, but who can resists the ease of creating such a simple meal? Not t mention there is no wrong or right way to go. You can add your own touch in any way you prefer. Unfortunately, not everyone n my house agrees with this. You see, I love to buy simple lunch meats out of the refrigerated section of my grocery store. My husband will freak if you use this to make is sandwiches! He feels deli meat is on a different level and no prepackaged meat cold ever compare. so, it is my mission in life to find a way … read more

Breakfast Without the Fuss- Honey Bunches of Oats Breakfast Biscuits

HBOO1

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! How many times have you heard that in your life? I am one of those crazy moms who really enforces this rule. I get angry when my kids want to rush out the door without eating or when they try to say they aren’t hungry and don’t feel like eating. I have always eaten breakfast. It may not be a sit down breakfast, but I eat something Otherwise, I am not a very nice person. The husband jokes that I become this evil witch if I don’t eat. But, I have noticed it getting harder and harder to make time for it. Between school, library, play dates, baseball.. it is always something. So I often opt for portable snacks. Many mornings I just pour a bag of cereal and grab a sippy cup of milk for the youngest and rush out … read more

Cafe Rio Grand Opening in Short Pump Virginia TOMORROW!

cafe rio 4

One thing I love about living in Richmond, VA is the amazing selection of restaurants. There is just about anything you can think of here to eat. One of my favorite cuisines, though, has always been Mexican food. Needless to say, I was excited to hear a new place opening near me to check out. I had never heard of Cafe Rio before, but I kept hearing about it coming in 2015 and how great their food is. Being a skeptic, I honestly thought to myself “could it be THAT much better than any other Mexican style restaurant here already?” Well, I had the opportunity to attend a VIP dinner there last night and lets just say fresh ingredients truly make this place stand out! As I browsed the menu, it seemed slightly small. Not a ton of choices.. but this is actually a plus because it helps them move … read more

bobuCuisine Peeler Set

vegetable peeler

I have recently become pretty addicted to kitchen gadgets. Now that I am a stay at home mom, I have much more time to do things in the kitchen. Before now, I mainly had the basics. And a lot of the basics I had were just cheap, dollar store versions that didn’t work that great or broke easily, but I used so little that I was ok with it. Not now! I need products that will last. My vegetable peeler is one of the products I have battled with. The blades on the cheap ones go so quickly! I just can’t peel my vegetables and fruits with a knife (I am not one to trust with knives!) so I keep a peeler on hand. I just thought they all dull in no time. I was recently given the chance to review bobuCuisines peeler set and wanted to give it a … read more
