5 Superb Vegetarian Recipes for Young Kids

5 Superb Vegetarian Recipes for Young Kids These days, more and more people are turning vegetarian and their children adapt to it no bother. There are lots more choices and products available now than when I was a child. Even as a teenager, eating out was always a problem and meant choosing between either an omelette or salad, if I was lucky. I was born a natural vegetarian and have never eaten meat or fish. My parents never forced me to, although they were carnivores. When I was little, whenever I visited my aunts, they used to keep asking me if I had learned to eat meat yet. As if it was something to be taught. I remember the nuns at boarding school trying to force me to eat fish and if it hadn’t been for my best friend Esmeralda’s voracious appetite, I would have been made to eat it … read more

Fun with PVC pipe

I am always on the search for fun new ideas to do with kids. Especially being a stay at home mom with summer coming! You have to have things to occupy your time and keep the kids active or you will likely lose your mind. I stumbled across this great craft activity on Disney’s Family Fun website and I can not wait to do it!! Not only will it keep the children occupied while helping build it, but it will keep them entertained all summer long. What more could you ask for? Home Depot Kids Workshop 4/6

I have posted before about the wood workshop that Home Depot does for children each month.  If you aren’t familiar with the post, click here to check it out. Tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month so it is time for another workshop! This month they will be making a Window Bird Feeder! These are really cute projects and we have made the bird feeder before. It actually suctions to a window and if you have daring birds around who will go in for the food, you can see them eating through your window! The kids love it. So make sure if you have time to check it out, visit your local Home Depot tomorrow between 9 and 12 AM (The earlier the better because when the projects are gone they are gone.. ) I would love to see pictures if anyone does make it!

Ready for some Leprechaun fun???

St. Patrick’s Day is next weekend! One of my more favorite holidays though I’m not really sure why. (Well now it’s my son’s birthday so I have an even better reason!) This holiday always brings back memories of when I was in elementary school. The week before our teachers would all get together and help us try to “catch a Leprechaun.” The put a great deal of work into this, though I of course didn’t know that back then. I have heard other people mention doing it at home and I think it will be something I do with my son once he’s old enough to understand! The week before St. Patricks Day we would build a “Leprechaun Trap” to catch one. Of course we got a big story about how mischeivous they would be and could cause all kinds of problems. We had to lure them in with shiny … read more
