Copy kids is a DVD produced to show children having fun eating foods they would otherwise NOT want to eat. It features Dr. Jay Gordon, a well know pediatrician. Many children are stubborn when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables.) My one year old is becoming one of these kids! I hate it because I feel like he will not get the nutrition he needs.) Dr. Gordon using a positive approach to try and have children eat healthy from the start. When I was given the opportunity to review this DVD I thought it might be a cute idea to help get my son more into vegetables. I know he is a bit young right now, but I figure the earlier he starts seeing positive eating habits the better!
When The DVD arrived I stuck it in to see what it was all about. You come to a menu where it lists different fruits and vegetables. You can choose which in particular you want to focus on at that time (This is great if you have a child who is only picky about something in particular) I just started at the beginning to work my way through. There are a variety if clips showing young children playing with and eating the different fruits and veggies. The whole time they are laughing and giggling and making funny faces with them, but the end result is them eating the foods. My one year old actually sat and watched it I think mainly because of all the giggling. My step-son is 9 and was watching along and thought it was rather dorky but amusing at the same time. It wouldn’t do well for much older then maybe up to 6 years old or so. After that age it would probably loose their attention. But for the younger group I can see where it would have a positive impact. Instead of seeing kids pushing the vegetables to the side or trying their best to avoid them as you see in many modern shows depicting the typical child, they will see the positive fun side and just may want to experiment for themselves! Here is a clip from the video.
