But what destinations cater to the lone traveler? Domestically and internationally, there are several places to relax by yourself and take in the surroundings and the locals. Where you choose to go is entirely dependent on what you want to do. 1. New Zealand Image via flickr by kayadams.com With everything from urban settings to breathtaking mountain views, New Zealand is a perfect place for the solo traveler. Visit the diverse city of Auckland and enjoy the nightlife, go to a winery, or leap from the 1,100 foot Skytower. If you want to get off the beaten path, travel to one of the country’s many beaches, such as Hot Water Beach, where you can dig your own hot tub in the sand.

http://thriftymom613.com

Above ground pools are great, but most people consider them inferior to in-ground pools. The truth is that these pools have certain advantages that in-ground pools can’t match. These are the five best things about above ground pools that most people overlook.PortabilityOne of the biggest problems with an in-ground pool is that it can’t be moved. You might be able to expand it, but that would require a lot of work, material and concrete. Above ground pools can often be moved with ease. This is especially true with the smaller ones, but many larger ones can be moved without many problems. You just have to lift up or remove the posts from the ground, move everything over and then reinstall it. It should only take a few hours or days at most to move the pool from one area of the yard to another. This is great if you don’t really …

The post 5 Great attributes of above ground pools that are often overlooked appeared first on Thrifty Mom's Reviews & More.

The ones who helped create us as well as the ones who helped us create our own beautiful children. Yeah, I know the second group also cause us to get fat, 9 months of heartburn, nausea, mood swings, countless hours of labor pains.. but past all that our lives have been changed fr the better. I guess that men do deserve to be celebrated just as much as us, if for nothing more than the fact that they out up with us at some of our worst times, wipe our tears, and for the really good ones, teach us how a man should treat us (dads and good husbands alike) So, in honor of dads every where (and please don’t forget step dads because sometimes a man may not have created …

The post Father’s Day Giveaway appeared first on Thrifty Mom's Reviews & More.

http://thriftymom613.com

I have to admit, I am definitely one of those ‘t-shirt and jeans’ kind of girls. I have always preferred comfort over style. My closet is full of t-shirts. While I love them, many of them are just mass produced shirts that you may see anyone wearing on any given day. I would love to say my clothing is unique, but sometimes it gets hard to find items no one else wears. So, when I was asked to review a custom T-shirt for Dress United, I was lost in my own head trying to design something I would wear. I had so many ideas that I know it took a few hours for me to make a simple design. I knew I wanted something to show my support of pit bulls. I have been wanting a shirt for that cause since I lost my baby girl back in October. After a while, …

The post Custom T-shirts from Dress United appeared first on Thrifty Mom's Reviews & More.

http://thriftymom613.com

I have to admit, I am not much of a book reading person. I mean I read at least 20 kids books a day because my son has an obsession with books, so by the time I have a chance to relax, reading is not something I use to take up that time. When I do decide to pick up a book, I am very picky and it has to be something that can catch my attention. Oddly enough, that tends to only be vampire novels etc. I was a bit hesitant on choosing to read The X by Lorena Bathey. I read the plot of the story and it sounded like something that I could see myself enjoying. Nothing can beat a story of lies, deceit, revenge, and the unveiling of the true strength that a woman/mom can possess if the need arises. I had high hopes for the …

The post The X by Lorena Bathey- Book review appeared first on Thrifty Mom's Reviews & More.

http://thriftymom613.com

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sears for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Have you ever been to the store in hopes of picking up an item you want only to find it is not there or is not in stock in your size? It seems to happen to me a lot! I don't know if I am just an odd size in clothing and shoes or if there are so many in my size that stores run out but it makes me really hate to shop. In the last week, I have learned a few new ways to shop. Especially when it comes to Sears. I love so many of their items but I run into the size problem very often there. Recently there was a super cute pair of Guess shoes I wanted. But having a giant size 10 foot, it is never …

The post Get #moreatsears with expanded online shopping! appeared first on Thrifty Mom's Reviews & More.

http://thriftymom613.com

I love jewelry, but I do not own a lot of it because I prefer pieces that mean something to me or my family. I don’t need expensive jewelry, it doesn’t have to be gold and diamonds, it just has to be pretty and has to speak to me. I prefer more of a simple design at a good price when looking. I recently had the chance to review a necklace from Alexa’s Angels. There were many amazing items to choose from and their prices are very affordable. The packaging immediately stood out! I loved how elegant the pouch was along with the beautiful pink stuffing! It gave the jewelry a beautiful effect before even opening it! I received a beautiful ‘Mom’ necklace just in time for Mother’s Day. Of course any mom is always willing to add a piece of jewelry to their collection to brag about being a mom. …

The post Celebrate Motherhood with a ‘Mom’ Necklace from Alexa’s Angels appeared first on Thrifty Mom's Reviews & More.

And then one day, all that changed. I’m still not even sure when. I just slowly realized that things like ice cream did not agree with me. One ice cream cone would have me miserable for hours! Milk was all but impossible to drink. I could still enjoy cheese in moderation and yogurt never seemed to bother me at all. Personally, I can wear the right clothes and look absolutely amazing. People never believe I weigh what I do. But I am hiding a lot. I look confident. I have had others tell me they’d love to have my body. But those people haven’t seen me nude.. or hell, even in a bikini for that matter. I stopped wearing those a few years back. I can’t stand to see what I look like in one and I sure don’t want other to run the opposite way blinded! My new years resolution was to lose weight and tone up. i did great on the weight loss the first 1-2 months. though I never really saw much difference in my body. I finally just gave up.
