Being the mom of two boys, I knew years ago that my life would be full of LEGO® bricks! What little boy isn’t in love with anything LEGO®? My oldest receives the LEGO® magazine and daydreams of all the creations he could create. Every time one comes in the mail he is saddened by the fact that there is a LEGO® Land admission ticket and we do not have a LEGO® Land in VA. Well, I am about to make his year and put the biggest smile ever on his face! LEGO® KidsFest is coming to The Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, VA. Yes, that is OUR HOMETOWN! Imagine my shock when I saw that a traveling LEGO® Expo will be right in my neighborhood! If you live in Virginia, or plan to be here February 15, 16, or 17 I would absolutely recommend checking out LEGO® KidsFest!
What is LEGO® KidsFest?
LEGO® KidsFest is a traveling LEGO® expo that is perfect for ALL AGES! Throughout the year they make stops in different states. LEGO® KidsFest is the perfect opportunity to gather your family for a few hours of absolute enjoyment TOGETHER! There are so many different activities listed that I am not sure I will have time for them all!

What can you expect at LEGO® KidsFest?
At LEGO® KidsFest, there will be activities for every member of the family. Have you ever wanted to see one of those giant, life-size LEGO® creations? The LEGO® Model Gallery will have 40 of them made completely from LEGO® bricks!

The LEGO® Master Builders will also be in action. How many people do you know that can get paid to play? They make some of the most amazing LEGO® creations! Does your child like to build race cars from their LEGO® bricks? They will have the chance to build their own and then race them on ramps at LEGO® KidsFest. Like LEGO® games? We haven’t tried them yet, but I can’t wait to check them out in the LEGO® Game Arena. There will be a LEGO® DUPLO section for the youngest members of the family (I know my baby will LOVE this!) There will be construction zones for free play of the LEGO® bricks, Monochromatic Builds to create designs in a single color, a LEGO® Friends display that combines lots of LEGO® and LEGO® DUPLO sets, a Creation Nation where you can build a creation to add to a custom map of the U.S., and even a giant LEGO® brick pile. I know I will have a hard time pulling the boys away from a huge pile of LEGO® bricks that they can just sit in the middle of and build fantastic creations!

Of course you will also want to bring some money because they will have a LEGO® Retail and Marketplace to purchase LEGO® merchandise as well as KidsFest gear. (you know your child will not let you walk away without buying something!) If you can’t tell, I am stoked about this experience! My son doesn’t know yet, but I can not wait to tell him and see the look on his face! 150,000 square feet covered in LEGO® bricks may be more than he can handle!
