I know many of you following this blog will wonder what I am writing about makeup for when I have boys. Simple answer to a simple question.. I like to bring you info on great product ideas.. and I do have plenty of friends ad family with little girls! I was recently given the opportunity to review Little Cosmetics pretend makeup. This is a super cute makeup set geared for little girls ages 3 and up. Of course this is also the age that little girls are sitting on the side of the toilets watching mommy put makeup on and just begging you to put even the tiniest little bit on to make her pretty too! Some moms may go for it. But many are not fond of putting chemicals on their children’s faces. Much less having their tiny daughter look too grown for her age. Little Cosmetics has found a great solution to this!
I received the essential make up set. This pretend make up kit includes all of the most popular make up choices. there is a powder compact. lip gloss, a blush compact, glitter ye shadow, a three color eye shadow palette, a 5 piece makeup brush set, a cute heart mirror as well as a carry case. I have to give the make up a 5 out of 5 when it comes to looks. For someone who didn’t know, it truly does look like a real make up set! And the brushes are actually very real. Upon further inspection, the make up is a brilliant idea. It has textured craft pieces that feel very real. The glitter has the gritty feel, the eye shadow is silky smooth to the touch, even the lip gloss ball rolls. But, nothing comes out of any of it. All of the effects without any of the mess. No chemicals, no crazy clown faces to clean. Just gold old fashion make believe fun!
Now for the real test, do the little ones still like the pretend makeup? Will they be upset that there is nothing on their face? Well, after putting it to the test we decided they don’t care! Children are great at using their imaginations when given the opportunity. The fact that it feels and looks amazingly real and they can carry around their own make up to look just like mommy is all that matters! I watched my sons best friend play and play putting on her make up. Many times she asked how pretty she was and if we wanted her to make us pretty too. (She even decided that, hey, boys can wear pretend make up too right?!) The joy on her face with from Little Cosmetics pretend make up was nothing shy of what it would have been had you given her a real make up kit. And us mommies were able o sit back and relax and just watch her have a great time with no fear of what the outcome was going to be. I will definitely be picking up some of these for other friends and family as they ill make wonderful birthday and Christmas gifts.
