New Me On The Rise!

So I am a couple days late on this post, but I wanted to check in with my New Years resolutions. You know, the typical “I’m going to lose weight and quit smoking” ones many people make all the time. I told you 2013 would be my lucky year. So far that is proving to be so very true! How long do you have to go without a cigarette to be considered a quitter? Today is day 17 for me. I think the worst is over and I rarely even crave one at this point (even though my husband is still smoking, that says a lot!) So I think I will officially consider myself a quitter. I always thought being a quitter was not a good thing. But this time it is! Now on to the weight loss..

weight 1-15

Yep, you see that right, the scale has gone down AGAIN. down to 166 as of Tuesday! (started at 171.6 on January 1) That’s 5.6 pounds,, but I will say 6 because I like rounding up! It sounds better =]  That’s an average of 3 pounds a week! If I can keep this up, I can be at my goal weight in time for my birthday and working on maintaining it. I even did measurements today and I am down 1 inch in my waist, 1 inch in my hips, and 1 inch in my thighs. I personally don’t see the difference yet, but my husband says he can see it. maybe I am just to critical of myself. I will post photos each month of progress so 2 more weeks before my first photos to compare. I can’t wait!

So, how have I been doing it? Of course I have been watching what I eat. I am trying to stay under 1500 calories a day and have even managed to stay under 1300 many times. I am eating good filling calories so I am eating a good 5-6 times a day! I am also trying to exercise a bit more. I got a FitBit Zip and I LOVE it. I am actually forcing myself to get those 10,000 steps a day and this little device has motivated me so much! I also joined myfitnesspal.com. If you are a member and want to add me, please do! I can use some more motivating buddies to keep me going strong. Just click the previous link, or my username is thriftymom613. I have my food diary set to publi so members can view the types of foods I eat daily to stick to my calorie limits if that is an interest as well!

I have also been taking a multivitamin as well as a weight loss supplement that I am reviewing called the 30 Day Diet by Creative Bioscience. I have only been taking that for a few days now, so I will update more on how well that works once I have had more time to try it! Overall I am very proud of myself and seeing these results just makes me want to continue. I know I can do this and I will! I can’t wait to see the completely new me! How have your goals for the new year been going?

Thanks! I have tried so many times and just never had the motivation. For some reason I finally have the right mindset and I think that is really helping!

  2. Who knew wanting to be a quitter would be a good thing. I love MorningStar foods, my family has not figured out that I put them in several recipes yet. What they do not know will make them better on this one. You are doing great and can not wait to hear more success stories.
