Potty Training Made Easy With #HuggiesWalmart Pull-Ups

If you have been following my blog recently, you probably know we have been trying to start potty training. (wohooo!) We have been using Huggies Pull-Ups to make the process easier so that baby boy can get them up and down and I can have peace of mind knowing if he has an accident, it wouldn’t be all over my furniture or carpet. We have been trying to use the big potty, but I had a tall toilet installed in my house while I was pregnant. (I felt like I was falling when I tried to use the other between my belly having me off balance and being so tall) This has been causing issues for baby boy because by the time he realizes he has to go and gets his pull-ups down to try to climb up, it is too late. So, we took a trip to Walmart to get potty training supplies!

roll back

Of course we instantly went to the Pull Ups. We love the night time Pull-Ups because they are more absorbent since he is in the beginning stages and still has a fair share of accidents. But I wanted to check out the lerning designs Pull Ups as well to see if they helped him realize he had an accident. They have a very cute Disney Cars design on the boys Pull Ups which my son loves! The learning design ones have a pattern that fades when it is wet and helps alert to an accident. I was really happy to see the roll back price at Walmart! I was able to get a pack for $8.97 instead of the almost $10 I spend everywhere else (even better, this price is available online as well!) I went ahead and got a pack of those to try as well as the big pack of night time Pull Ups for only 19.99. (they glow in the dark and we love to watch it glow at bedtime!)

I also decided to pick up a potty to see if that helped our process along a bit easier. It was so hard to choose, but my cousin runs an at home daycare and potty trains all of the children. I took her advice on the Fisher Price frog potty as she said it was perfect for boys to prevent leaking in the floor that we had also experienced with a boy sitting on the big potty. For only $12, it was a great deal! And I’m a sucker for rewards, so I got a few Hershey kisses as well. :)

We got home and set up his own personal spot in the bathroom. He was afraid of the potty for a few minutes so I let him play with the packs of Pull Ups while I set him on it so he could have something he was comfortable with. I decided for the day to take him to potty the same time as me so he could understand what was going on. It took a few hours but he decided he loves his new set up! Score one for #HuggiesWalmart!

We added a few books to his area and we are now set for success! I love that he can easily get the Pull Ups down and since the potty is his size he has a much better chance of sitting in time. And as for the potty, my cousin knew what she was talking about! It is awesome!

pull ups

He feels like such a big boy now with his Pull-Ups! Mr. independent doesn’t need mommy’s help to get them back up either. Now if only I could get him to keep his pants on instead of taking them off to see Mater and lightening McQueen!

easy open tabs

Of course, I did mention we still have quite a few accidents. This is another reason I LOVE Pull-Ups. They have an easy open tab for those messy moments when you do not want to pull them down! They are well made and do not just open on their own as he is pulling them up and down, but I can easily lay him down and open them when the need arises. This made my life a little simpler since I would hate to have a poop filled training pant that I have to slide down.

call from mater

Outside of the Pull-Ups, Huggies has taken it a step further to make potty training a success. If you check out Huggies Pull-Ups online, you have a nice set of tools to help! They have everything from potty timers to alert you to take a potty break, songs, coloring pages, a potty dance, and even a potty app for your phone! My all time favorite has been a personal call from Mater to talk to my baby boy about potty training! I have no idea what he said to him, but he was on the phone for almost two minutes babbling away and giggling listening to him! It was so adorable! (you can have Cinderella call if you have a girl!) I can’t wait to download more of the potty training tools from Pull-Ups and continue on a successful road to potty training!

  5. I love pull ups. We are past that stage though normally, unless the bathroom is taken and we can not get in quickly.
