I am on my computer well.. probably 12 hours a day. Yes, that is a lot of time to spend on an electronic device. Many times I break things! I can’t figure out for the life of me what has happened and it takes me forever to fix. And sometimes, I break more things in the process of trying to fix what I already broke! True story! So when I was given the chance to review Computer Help Today, I decided to take the offer. I was a little hesitant at first about using remote access to my computer and having a complete stranger digging through my computer. But, I just told myself I could watch the entire time and would be able to see everything, so I shouldn’t worry.

I spoke with a gentleman from Computer Help Today to set up a time and date to perform the work. I loved that they could work around MY schedule. Having kids, that was a blessing in itself! The day they were to perform the task, they called a bit earlier and asked if I was open to doing it then. They had finished up early and could start mine. If it wasn’t a good time, they’d call back at the scheduled time. I was open so I went ahead. It was very simple to get them started. they walked me through a site while on the phone to log in and grant them access to my computer. Once it was installed, I could see them moving the mouse and was able to hang up the phone and they would call back when done. I plugged my laptop in so it wouldn’t die on them. I watched in amazement as they opened all types of stuff and ran programs to clean and optimize my computer. After a bit, I was comfortable enough to walk away and clean house while they worked. It was nice knowing they were fixing it yet not sitting in my living room where I would feel I had to stay if they were in person!

After about two hours, they called back to let me know they were finished. There were a few pieces of malware removed and many settings optimized. He also informed me that I did not have an active virus protection and where I could go to get protection immediately! Once I was off the phone, I had to test my computer of course! It was definitely faster than it had been and ran a lot smoother. I was worried stored passwords would have been erased but everything was still fine. The only issue I have encountered at all is that my wifi no longer automatically connects. But I guess that is very tiny compared to how much better the rest of the computer runs!
