When I was young, I remember begging my mom to let me paint my nails. For every one time she allowed me to, I got 25 no’s (needless to say, my nails weren’t painted often.) She always said how bad nail polish was for me. It would ruin my nails. The smell was horrid. She always had a reason why, but on special occasions she would give in. It wasn’t until I grew up and started having my nails done professionally that I realized just how bad it was! For a while I constantly had painted designs and more. Between the cost and the fact that the smell of a salon practically made you high, I started rethinking it. But once I stopped, I saw the damage I had done. My nails were brittle and thin. There were discolorations everywhere. It was disgusting! It took forever to get my nice nails back. Now that I have them, I do not want to ruin them!
People always ask why I don’t have mine painted and I say until I find a nail polish that won’t ruin them, I will not do it! Well, now I can rest easily! I have found Piggy Paint! Piggy Paint is a non-toxic, non-smelly nail polish that is so safe that it is even geared FOR kids! If it is safe for a 3 year old, I know I can happily use it! This product is odorless, hypoallergenic, water-based, and made in the USA. Even more, this product is even safe to use during pregnancy! I received a few different piggy paint products to test and have been very happy with them! The colors are nice and vibrant! It goes on very smooth and only takes two coats to be beautiful!
I received Forever Fancy (a pretty glittery pink color) Sea-quin (the pretty blue on my nails below!) a polish top coat, clear base coat, and an angel kisses polish pen. i absolutely love the pink and blue and had to force myself not to paint my nails alternating colors like a big kid (true story!) The base coat is simple to apply and no smell at all. Once it dries, I applied two coats of color. These went on smooth and surprisingly very even. I let is set for a few minutes and then applied a top coat. It says for best results to use a blow dryer to set the nails. This works like a charm and within five or six minutes my nails were done. No foul odors to give me a headache! As long as I used the base and top coats, the polish lasted for a while (I tried the first time with color only and it chipped in less than 24 hours) The polish pen didn’t work for me. It took forever to get color out and then it went on with a white out texture consistency that I was not fond of. Thought this might be fun for little girls just messing around. The only issue I had at all was removing the polish. I had to soak my nails in acetone polish remover to take it off. They do state that they have an eco-friendly polish that removes it easily, so I highly recommend checking that out if you purchase Piggy Paint. Overall this definitely has my approval for girls and woman of all ages!
