Lets start with a little background. My husband has been in construction type jobs for quite some time now. He goes through boots more than anyone I know. I thought when he moved to this new job in an electrical pre-fab shop that we would be able to spend less on boots. Well I was wrong. I don’t know how he is so rough on them, but he is! Not to mention he has a wide foot so finding comfortable, stylish boots that have a safety toe as well as being electrical hazard rated for work can be a nightmare.
I was recently given a chance to review for Shoes For Crews. Of course that means my husband sat on my laptop for hours deciding which pair he thought would work and hoping he made the right choice. He decided to go for a nice new pair of work boots from their line of men’s slip resistant footwear. They were the Ranger composite toe boots in black. They have a very nice sleek design. He loves composite toe since it is not as heavy as a steel toe boot and seems to be much more comfortable. The shoes also have other important features to him such as a puncture resistant foot bed, are CSA rated as well as EH rated (perfect in his electrical career) and even a slip resistant out-sole. The pattern on the sole really reminds me of a tire in the way it grips and repels water. The boots even came with a little brush to keep the soles clean of debris buildup to increase the life of the soles.
So, what was his opinion of the boots? He is thoroughly impressed. He loves the overall design and style of them. He has been wearing them everyday for the last few weeks and they still look almost new. He has walked across oil spots and never slipped once. He ordered the wide width and they weren’t quite as wide as he was hoping for, but they are slowly stretching. He says the insoles are pretty comfortable on most of his foot. However, he does have a bit of a high arch so we are on the search for a new pair of insoles to add in. Otherwise, the quality of boots he received compared to the price on the site is well worth it. He has spent upwards of $150 on boots previously and been unhappy with them. At $83.98, these boots are a steal and he will definitely be ordering another pair from Shoes for Crews when the need arises!
